About Vietnam Motherland Tours

Share the experience that is uniquely that of the Vietnam Motherland Tour.

Organized for former adoptees, families and friends, the Vietnam Motherland Tour offers an opportunity for adoptees to reconnect with their roots and share the experience with fellow adoptees.

The Motherland Tour combines a balance of visiting places of personal significance with cultural and historical sightseeing of modern day Vietnam. Unique to the Motherland Tours is that each trip is tailored to the individual's background. We do our best to accommodate visits to towns/villages, orphanages, and nurseries relevant to the individual's background. Each place is thoroughly researched in advance so no time is wasted when the participants are in country. Meetings with former childcare workers and administrators are also well organized in advanced so that reunions can be made possible. 

The Motherland Tour is the only program that is able to organize a private memorial service at the exact crash site of the C-5A plane which went down on April 4, 1974.  The visit to the crash site is important in an adoptee's history, especially those who were part of Operation Babylift.

Experience from the Vietnam Motherland Tour has meant different things to different people. For some it means closure while others a new beginning. But overall, the experience offers a better understanding of the country, the culture, the people and most of all, a better appreciation of the new life that was given to them by their adoptive parents.

The 2-week itinerary includes visits to the major cities: Ho Minh City (Saigon), Mekong Delta, Danang, Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi and conclude with a trip to spectacular Halong Bay. The focus in Ho Chi Minh City will be visiting former nurseries (New Haven, Hy Vong, To Am, Phu My) and orphanages where in-kind donations will be given. Places of personal significance will be added to the itinerary once the background information is known.

Registration

The Motherland Tour cost is $3,400 per person. To reserve your space on the tour, please complete the reservation form and send it with a USD500 deposit. Early reservation is recommended since space is limited.

Reservation deadline is February 20, 2007.
